What I do Is Draw my lil sketch, then over it color the sections of the body thats closest to me.
Like if I was doing a hedgehog I would start with the muzzle, then eyes, then the body so forth, then tail last. I try to shade with colors beside black.
Like If im drawing somthing green, I would shade it dark with blue and light with green. :v Decide what direction the light is coming from
