I don't like using the translucent eraser because there's no airbrush version, the edges are too visible so it makes it choppy, and you can see the layer underneath too well which gives you double vision. If I had time I would have done what I did with loki, and made the bottom layers plain and the upper ones detailed and faded with the airbrush around the edges. I rushed this one because I started three hours before the deadline. I wish I'd made his nose stand out from his face though, but the orange blur made it too difficult to figure out in time.

oh jeeze, I just realized my ds is an hour behind, and I could have used that extra hour to fix the 3d. Darn.

Have you ever seen my tutorial "how to draw between layers"? The technique takes some time, but there's a way to hide 3d edges without making double vision.
