So, my fantroll is a low blood based on the alternian hemospectrum. Each blood has a role and/or power. Low bloods are more likely to possess psychic powers and are much strongerdue to these powers unlike the high bloods. Though, some high bloods are quite strong, they do not possess powers like the low bloods. So, Thomas here has strong psychic powers. Making him much stronger than if he were not to have these psychic powers.
He keeps this a secret because he is afraid of being judged or thrown out of the academy.
But it's a witch academy so you know; call it magic? XD

Aradia had pychic powers to- But they were different from Sollux's powers.
It was also stated that the extinct Lime bloods had very strong psychic powers too. Their powers were so strong that it caused the High bloods to become fearful and kill them off. (sad isn't it?)
