Mustang was so busy fighting homunculus and losing his eyesight that he managed to work up a sweat. He drove home to find out that it was destroyed in explosive flames. And when he went to the dry cleaners, they were destroyed as well, so he was forced to take off his uniform while at work and wash it there.
And there's ur excuse.
