perhaps you could draw over the unfinished areas with something else, if you don't want to repeat the detailed process

Start another painting and come back to it later. That's what I do when I get bored of working on a painting for too long.

I would definately finish it. Pictures with a lot of small details are usually the best ones. Just take a couple breaks in between if it's becoming too much. That's what I do. :]

Just stop trying to make pixel perfect lines, then you'll have a lot more fun with it ;)
