I tried forcing myself to draw today and since I learned something about my art, I figured I'd share it.
So....I guess I can't even draw anything decent without trying to imitate my favorite artist's style and I just...I think the reason I've been so frustrated with my art is partially because of that. I mean my most popular pic is literally me trying to imitate it, one of my personal favorite drawings is another attempt at imitation, and I can't help but to feel like my 'good' art is confined to doing that. It feels almost unfulfilling to do it and yet my art really looks better when I DO do it and in a way, their style has become my style. I just don't know what to do about it if I should even do anything.
I could really use some advice with this q - q

It's ok to want your style to look similar to someone else's, but if you feel that you want to do something more /you/ go for it! Draw what you find the easiest and the most aesthetically pleasing.

Thanks so much for your comment q v q ! I guess I'll just take your advice and draw the way I'm most comfortable with/ what I think looks the best! Thanks again > v <!!

I think you should draw in a way that feels good to you and try not to worry about how technically "goid" or popular it is. if you're having fun drawing, you'll soon get better anyway because you'll find practicing easier, and then you'll have a style that's fun to draw in AND looks good!

Gaaah, you are so right! Thanks for the input. I really should draw for the fun of it- not solely for the end product.
