That aside, Penitents are wandering doctor-priests, and this is a (super inconsistent and messy) demonstration of how the mask is layered. They follow a similar principle with the rest of their clothes too, so the leading cause of death for Penitents is probably heatstroke.

I don't really like this much but I worked on it for slightly too long to just delete it.
