It's so helpful to read your descriptions... I'm a fan of your work and your thinking too. I don't understand to what you're refering to exactly, in this piece, but I understand when that happens to me too. Sometimes it's just better to move on, instead of trying to fix all of it, right? It's wasted time if the lesson is learned already.
To briefly answer what I don't like about the design: To many similarly sized cube shapes, bad shape unity in general (those weird window/ doorway graphics), material repetition does not make sense to me. Basically, I should have just looked up a real castle and used it to get a better Idea of how they are built.
Sorry if that didn't make sense, I'm not very good at communicating things like that..

Interesting... what is it that makes this design bad, exactly. I don't have a whole lot of experience with architectural paintings.
