:V I Dunno by Concept-of-Infinity

Happy 4th of July to those who are celebrating! :O
May the fireworks be not too overly annoying today and everyone stay safe!
Kinda a rant of sorts so feel free to ignore:
Has anyone ever just gotten an abrupt feeling of hate out of the blue towards their art style that everytime you look at a peice you've done you are filled with utter disgust?

Yeh, that is how I feel right now :/ Hopefully it'll just be momentary but it is really making it hard for me to work on anything.

YES! I feel that way sometimes... UnU It usually just goes away for me a little later... This is a beautiful pic, though! Wonderful job! Love the lighting!

Sometimes, though not in a long-time, I feel that way, but primarily when looking at my old art, especially from since I first joined. It's also a good fresher from when you feel such disdain.

My art from before twenty-fourteen really sucked on here and then in mid-last year and onwards I noticed that it evolved quite a bit since (coloring, character consistency, etc). Once I started doing pieces far different than what I was used to (which at the time was mostly face/portrait shots and nothing else) I became more satisfied. I'd recommend branching out and doing pieces you don't normally do, or taking a periodic break as I do. Both can really help. :-)

As for this upload, it looks awesome to me! I especially like the background and soft/subtle lighting on their clothes. Nicely done!

I've been looking into improving my art but it never feels like I'm doing enough to make a difference or I'm just not competent in art enough yet to really accomplish much. I almost feel like I'd have to completely revamp my style starting from the ground up :/ Thanks for your thoughts on the matter, though! It really means a lot > v <!

Although looking back on really old art can be super cringe-worthy, I've actually found it to be really motivating for myself. My really really old art (first drawings and such) look absolutely nothing like where I am now (thank goodness for that)and that little push has been enough to get me this far. Even so, I feel like I've reached a plateau in my artwork...kinda like this is as good as it is going to get considering everything I've been trying to experiment with just falls flat. I guess it'll take some time to really improve but I'm so eager for it to be now- and I'm usually a really patient person. I don't really know why I suddenly feel like it isn't enough. I'll definitely try taking your advice with the breaks. Maybe stepping away for awhile will be more beneficial than forcing myself to draw. Anyways, thanks a bunch for all your help with this and I appreciate your compliments to the piece <3

Wow this is beautiful! The effects are dazzling and really add an other worldly look to the picture. The poses and expressioins of the character look at ease and calm and they both contrast each other perfectly. The overall concept is great. Very nice work. :)
