This is the important verse.
(3)"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (4) They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

...Doesn't that sound just like where we're at now?

It kinda does with the whole "follow whatever you want but if it's Christianity I don't want anything to do with it" worldly mentality. I've also noticed a lot of Christians here aren't as they should be. Hating those without God, only friends with those who are with God. Bashing those who are against God. My Bible app on my phone has little lessons and the one for yesterday gave parallels to God's people in Israel's time and now. Prophets were sent to warn God's people to stop acting the way they did. Well, Christians seem to be living for themselves now. Then there's the warring between IS and Israel. What's going on in the world? And where are we in biblical history?

It took Jesus to save God's people back then. And if parallels end up true, then it'll take Jesus to save the church now

Man, I love it when Christians aren't jerks about... well, being Christians.
Like, you're following and exploiting your beliefs according to how you actually should - without being unaccepting of what everyone else believes.
Thank you for that.

Since, you know, everyone's an equal under His eye.

...I'm actually non-religious, but I assume that's a root Christian belief.

Agreed. It does sound like now. I've seen different people who claim to be Christian cussing like sailors and supporting unbiblical things. It makes my heart ache to see this. :( And non-Christians call us horrible things because of these so called "Christians".

Christianity is about love. See what love accomplished? It paves the way to heaven. But evil sends us to death. We can try to save people all we want, but ultimately it's God's decision. We can't help Him, He chooses to let us help

My paster says the word Christian means "Christ-like". Our jobs as Christians are to live like Jesus, and to spread His word. Those who claim to be Christians but live ungodly lives are not true Christians.
It's very important tell the good news, but we have to be careful not to turn people away. Of course, nothing will attract everyone.

@Texabella: God does love us all equally, yes. But that doesn't mean we all automatically get into heaven.

Ahah, that I understand.
I just dislike it when people that claim to be Christians 'curse like sailors' - as accurately phrased by a past commenter - and treat relationship partners like plastic eating utensils.
That is, they use them for entirely self-enticed reasons, and only keep them for a very temporary time.
And then they still scream at every athiest that looks at a bottle of alcohol or stares at a person of the same gender for more than half a second will go burn to hell.
Echh.
But yeah, I get it. :p
