Those colors, their features, their hair, their skin... Those two could be siblings.
Don't worry, the foreshortening is fine. I know what you mean, I have the same issue. I wish I could do color drawings like this. You recieved teaching, right? Classes? Got any pointers you can pass one?

So you're self-taught, like me... I had to do the same, and honestly much prefer it. I can claim my talent and skills, and my style, as mine with credit to no other human being. I'm very proud of that.
On a side-note, I've decided to leave my coloring style for designs and such... I just can't get into it seriously.
I am SO glad you found that tutorial helpful! But remember, on the 3rd example, that horizontal line isn't supposed to be very visible. It should be VERY underplayed, unless the character is in a leaned-foward stance.
Can't wait to see what comes of it. ^^
