theres always going to be people that we look back on past events and think, "that's so terrible, how could people think like that back then?" and then be thankful that things have changed. however, there's always going to be people that don't realize they will be looked back on with the same scorn and disgust.
1: emancipation proclamation ends slavery
2: women gain the right to vote
3: desegregation begins
4: same-s3x marriage legal

@PC: i usually call it same-s3x because it doesnt just effect gays, it effects lesbians, bisexuals, pans, aces, etc. are you against "same-s3x" because it seems to enforce gender binary? i wanna use an all-encompassing term and i'd like to know ur opinion on it. :) i've heard lots of differing opinions and am always looking to hear more.

well, thats true but same sex is kinda harmful to transgenders. gay marriage is just an umbrella term for all of that kinda so i think its just better to use gay marriage

THANK YOU. I'm also really hoping that one day we look back on ourselves in disguist at how we treat our undocumented immigrants today, deporting them back to their home countries only to be executed or condemning them to die in the desert all the while scapegoatong them for all our problems from unemployment to terrorism. (Fun fact: attacks by white supremacists and other hate groups have historically killed far more people in the U.S than acts of "jihadi" terrorism)

@elsola: YES! agreed 100 percent! i wanted to include other issues that we will be ashamed of in the future, but i didnt have enough space. our time will be looked back on in shame because of anti-immigration, dismissal of race-motivated police brutality, white supremacy, awful treatment of trans people, and so much more. luckily theres also amzing people out there working to change that for the future. its painful to watch those who will be (hopefully) deeply ashamed of their actions now though.

THANK YOU!!! Someone who gets it. :3
A lot of the kids here seem to just to be adapting the bias their parents, home school teachers, etc. and so forth advocate. Christian's using the bible and choosing which parts of the OT they use to dictate their lives and by extension through political positions, the lives of non-Christians (then decrying "oppression" and persecution when justly scrutinized). None would advocate for Jim Crow no more then stoning gays and others as instructed by their god in leviticus. When this is brought up, they always retract their position but fail to get the comparison. Also what about "no marrying between tribes" (interracial marriage). Only fringe groups in the US are against this but it's pretty much ignored so they can spread their "holier than thou" narrative.
But this is what progress looks like and opposition will fall into infamy except maybe in the bible belt (where I'm from, actually) for a long time, at least. -_-

@irontrident00 HOLY MOLY love isn't just about making babies. If that's all it is to you, I am so sorry. Also, people can't "turn" gay. They are or they aren't. As for the diseases, straight people get them too. And everyone dies at some point! Wow!

Not trying to be rude, but I'm trying to find some good, inspirational messages about the LGBT and then here's this hateful comment...Show respect to get respect. That was disgusting.

The more I learn about us history, the more I hate it. Such a shame the right-wing conservatives are feeding lies
