The eye was drawn for no particular reason so I'd say it's pretty meaningless.
Aaand I agree. Whenever I tried to draw someone looking upwards, I'd always end up messing it up. Sooo I guess it was sort of a study. haha.
Oh, and this painting is lovely. The eyes were drawn very well; They really stand out.
Her expression is spot on.
