I really need to learn techniques to detail fur realistically like this. : ) Any suggestions?

@The Adjudicator: I don't have a technique that I consistently use for fur details. In fact, I tend to not go into too much fur detail nowadays.

I do remember for this particular painting I used the blurred brush with the smallest radius and a high opacity. I painted the fur over colours that contrasted highly with the colour of the hairs eg: for the white fur I first painted a dark greyish "coat" so the white hairs would be more enhanced
