If you really don't like how your art looks, start looking at references to art styles you actually like and try copying their style. Also, good look at TroTroy's HOW TO MAKE YOUR ART LOOK NICE tutorials on deviantart to help yourself get to your form of 'better art style', whatever you consider it to be.
