I suspect that doing a linedrawing initially is a bit slow with the one hour(ish) limit. Will see if I can save some time by thinking in paint directly tomorrow.
Cool. I think smaller canvases may save time as well. Have you seen @SENCO? He usually gets a black canvas and immediately begins splotching in colours.
Mh, he seems to be pretty fast yeah. The main reason I do linework is that it helps me establish a "camera angle". Especially for manmade stuff that includes a lot of parallel lines. But it should be doable with light/shadow as well.

I very often paint without lines. I seriously take hours on end doing lines so I try to skip over it entirely when I can.
