Only two of these creatures are able to have the same symbol on the end of their tails. When two who have the same symbol meet, their marks gain color and they are no longer black and white. This symbolizes that they have found their soulmate. When one's soulmate dies, the ssurviving partner's mark dissappears.

This was somewhat based on the style of @Sheito's horned foxes. I don't currently have a name for the species so help is appreciated!
Extra info about Soulmate thing: There have been occasions when one's symbol dissappears before it gains color. The ones like this become depressed for the rest of their life or become deperate to help others find their soulmates before they pass.
