So what happened with Mima and her sister is that Mallory disagreed with Mima over her choices, and got so heated with her that she lashed out at Mima with the closest object, a knife. That ended up being the last time Mima and Mallory spoke to each other. After that, Mima cut herself off from her family once and for all. She hasn't seen Mallory in 3 years.
