Theory One- I don't think Lapis Lazuli was ever not a mirror till Steven pulled her out. When she regenerates, she doesn't go through any changes. Also, it seems like she isn't used to having a body since she can't keep her balance when she regenerates. I don't think the Crystal Gems wanted her to regenerate due to the fact that she had the potential of being bad.

Gems do have the ability to create other gems. What if someone made the Lapis mirror back then. It seems that gems don't care about other species (and at some points, even other gems) so why would any gem care to pull Lapis out. If that's the case, what if there are other gem items being used now. :O

Theory Two- I'm sure everyone noticed when Jasper said "A lost and defective Pearl" but I don't think there's a planet filled with Pearls. I think Pearl was a very intelligent gem back then but now they advanced to other gems like Peridot. They do both have gems on there foreheads and are both really smart. I think Pearl now is considered as an old outdated gem to the homeworlders. I think Peridot is a newer version of gem, created specificly to be smart.

What if Peridot doesn't have a weapon and her gem just summons her whatever it's called covering her eyes. What if the gems now only use gem distabelizers as fighting tools and only resort to there weapons now as a self defense. Wow! I have a lot of opinions! :D

My theories are: Rose is NOT Steven's lion but he was her secret companion. It was actually kind of leaked in "Rose's Scabbard" and "Lion 3" EVIDENCE 1: In Rose's scabbard pearl talks about how rose has kept everything secret to everyone exept pearl, but if lion knew about that secret place that now belongs to steven, how would he know about that hidden place?
EVIDENCE 2: In Lion 3 Steven finds a video tape of rose talking about what happened after she gave birth to steven. Rose never said anything about the lion and she said she was going to be part of Steven.

Lion is confusing to me. If he was Rose, I would think he knew about her hidden place though. I always assumed Lion was Rose after being corrupted. Although, Rose does say she looks forward to being Steven. Hmmm...

Random but one thing does bug me. What's with Amethyst's hair? She seems to wanna grow her hair long by seeing Greg's in Story for Steven but in So Many Birthdays, she has long hair already in an old photo. What's going on!
