After all of his co-workers had left him many years ago in this building, Stanley had forgotten what another human looked like. What one's touch felt like.
The Narrator knew this. And just to mess with Stanley, and since they were stuck in an office together anyway, The Narrator stole a surprise hug from Stanley.
The next day, Stanley spent his time in the broom closet in fear.. in shame. Shame for blushing."
