I yuckied her color palette a bit to add to the mood.

Since Sphalerite is an extremely curious gem, she tends to get into trouble easily.

Not that she doesn't deserve it at times. She'll destroy a gem's physical form just to be able to check out the stone for a bit. Sparkly gemstones are her favorite.

So, her eyes get sparkly like her gem, and she'll occasionally expel beams of light that may cause damage to others accidentally.
