@Lilyflower Well, frankly, I'm doing similar thing as here - http://twarda8.deviantart.com/art/Smooth-shading-coloring-tutorial-GIMP-512776661 So you may want check the tutorial. I put colors I see and the sketch is a guideline in the bird portrait.
