I find it easiest (for me at least) if I model the character to make a vague 3D image, then color in the silhouette piece by piece. I find that what seems to look best lately, is starting dark, adding light, and working your way to the middle ground. But I'm always trying new ways to improve what I do know, and keeping what works best.

i dont understand the dragon typing, either. xD
