Could you point me to where it says "kill non believers"? In the old testament there were around six hundred laws made that made people feel like they could earn their way to heaven. According to the new testament, When Jesus came around, he called all the religious leaders out, and he disagreed with many of the laws made by them. One, because a lot of the laws were pointless, two, because no one can follow them all forever, and three, because it made some people feel better than others. He said following the man-made "law" wasn't the way things should be, and that people could only get into heaven by forgiveness, so no one could brag about how "good" they were. He also said that God judges by the heart, and that when you look at someone with lust, you commit adultery with them in your heart. Here's a good section for this.
<<<"18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
21 Fathers,[c] do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.">>>
Wives and husbands were supposed to have a mutual relationship, a two-way street. The father was the head of the family, but he wasn't supposed to abuse that power. And I don't think the Bible was pro-slavery or anti-slavery, slavery was just around back then and it mentioned it.
Lastly, I don't think it's fair to call it a fear. I disagree with something someone else thinks is ok. That's different. I'm not afraid of people that have sex before marriage, but I believe it won't make their marriage any easier. I'm not afraid of child molesters, but I strongly disagree with their life choices. I'm not afraid of people that marry their siblings, but I think their children will have a slightly higher chance of ginetic mutation. I'm not afraid of people having sex with their same gender, but I believe it's a long fed and developed preference, a choice, not ginetic, and I don't believe something becomes marriage if you call it that enough times.
