The two regarded each other in silence. Finally, the short haired young man spoke, 'Hello, miss.' he said pleasantly.
"I'm not a girl." The long haired young man replied, a hint of irritation in his voice.
'Maybe you should cut your hair...' The short haired young man suggested.
"Never going to happen." the long haired youth protested. "I love my hair, it's soft and fluffy." he added pressing his hair into his face.
'Yeah, well while you're making out with your hair, I'll be making out with this line of people.' The short haired boy teased with a wink.
"There are no people..." The long haired youth pointed out, the other boy appeared not to notice. "You're rather short, aren't you?" he said a moment later.
'Thanks for pointing that out.' The short haired boy sulked.
"You called me a girl."
'A pretty girl.'
The long haired young man just scowled at that and chose not to answer.
