My bf showed me a video on Facebook about a lady flipping out at a Black man simply because he started his car. Though racism is far and few between in my life, I realize it is strong in some places and this serves as a reminder than skin does not prove superiority

This is a beautiful example of unity and a reminder that people still unconsciously divide each other into "us vs them", be it race, country, language, religion, etc. These divisions keep us down with fear and mistrust, but once we get to know each other, we can see everyone as people, just like us, with hopes and dreams we can never achieve on our own.

Some forms of hate stem from fear. When something makes you feel uncomfortable, you may recoil or lash out, like a scared animal. But other forms of hate come from within and begin as self hatred. Miserable people tend to make others miserable. A lot of bullies act out because of this.
