I've noticed that leaving a lot of comments around the Community has been pretty darn effective for me.
I always check the Galleries of people who leave comments on my stuff.
Internet comments though.. I may be slow to reply to those.

Eye candy! That's what I'm missing! XP This was presented very well and got to the point without some of the lollygagging I did in how to get likes (back then there were no followers). I like commenting the best because constructive comments or just really sweet ones can help make friends and friends are more reliable than followers. Though I'm too busy to always reply or go through my feed, I hope people understand that, just because someone follows doesn't mean they'll always be on to see your uploads. We all have lives, but it's still fun to share art and meet new people. :3

Awesome tutorial, dude! Thanks for mentioning being unique... I hate when people dedicate to copying a style to the letter. Anime artists are the worst offenders... It's nice, and I DO enjoy it, but when I can take your painting and place it next to someone elses, and no one can tell the difference, you've done something very wrong. Though, being similar to one style or taking inspiration from it is just fine. I've been told my work looks like a western/anime mash-up with a touch of Zelda.

I never focused on getting followers and the such, I don't draw for recognision, though it is nice. I only expected to have around a maximum of 5 when that started. XD

Though, I do quite enjoy getting comments. Not those "Cool draw!" comments, though, I like to know why someone likes/dislikes it.

My goal, as far as being seen/followed goes, is to have at least one person truely enjoy each thing I post. As long as each drawing have that one, bronze star, it's done what it was supposed to do. ^^

Also, if your watching it on PC, keep the speed at 1, it goes WAY too fast at 2.

And I agree. I have a friend who writes, and he started for fun, but then started thinking he could make money off it, and lost interest entirely. He's realizing now it's a bad idea, and writing for fun now.

My animations tend to be more about keeping people entertained than instructing them. So, a part 2 might also be useful if you had other ideas left over from the edits. And, yeah, January 2OI3 was when info started to slowly leak out about the update that would come in a few months. There were no tags and no trending and the only way to search was from the website, so it was hard to be noticed. I think though more people looked in New Paintings back then though. The followers feature is really handy, as I had to look through old comments to find the artists I wanted to check on or they'd have to find me and comment to tell me they made new art. Also, the comments glitched all the time too and there was this annoying "push" thing people would do with returns to get their comments visible. Wow, now that I think about it, I see how much it's been improved. Though, there wasn't the markers in playback, so animations were slightly smoother.

When ever i try to get followers i just comment a lot ewe like on any random painting xD or even stalk some people followers and comment on 1 of each painting

But

.actually. .people dont like different stuff at all or at least most of the artist that usually do draw different stuff get unnoticedbut the ones that are Repetitive art get more likes more comments and sometimes get followers more quickly o_o or at least thats what i have seen
Usually this community only pay attention to the popular the most that's really sad tho
