so... i kinda have this random idea, basically im thinking of makeing a 'stray' character. the character is open for anyone to draw, and wanders into peoples 'galleries' as he/she is owned by no one. i dont want it to be a 'pass it on' thing, more just drawing when you want. basically no limits on what you want him/her to do in your pic. just have to decide what dog breed and gender i want now. if your interested in joining, you can help me decide/give me suggestions on the character.

The Dalmation is easy to draw for everyone and is a very classic, cliche breed that is easily loveable. It's pelt pattern is also very memorable so it won't be a hard thing to draw/do. I'm placing my bet on that lil' dude ^^

I don't think we should pick the shiba inu, it will just end up adding to the "doge" thingy. <:(
Sorry to those who like doge, but adding to a meme is really probably not what we're going for here. And sorry to those who want to believe that a shiba inu can exist without reminding everyone of the meme, but it was just too big and the majority of people still yell "much this" and "such that" when they see one. I'm really sorry if my opinion offends anyone; I think shiba inus are cute myself, I just don't think the probable meme association is the best idea.
I agree that the dalmation is simple and recognizable, if you pick it you should definately give it a unique and memorable marking and/or accessory, and keep in mind to try not to have it remind people too much of 101 Dalmations cuz more originality.
Myself personally, I really like the sketch of the saluki, she looks like a really nice stray. :)

I think this is a really cool idea! As far as breed and gender though, I don't know. But, good luck with it!

Well, actually I've thought about it more, and I think probably a male (but gender doesn't matter too much) and either a Saluki or Ibezian Hound from this bunch. They seem to look more like a wandering type while the others seem too loyal or domestic to be a wandering stray sorta dog. Honestly, I don't care what kind, but I hope this helps if you're having trouble picking.
