i just wanted to post this before it's colored cuz it'll take me a while to but here's what's happening- Hezu always started to cry when Jarold and their father would argue. That usually ended with Jarold yelling that their father would have to kill him before he'd stop trying to protect Hezu and Jarold being slapped, kicked, punched, hit up side the head with a bottle or just hurt it general. The worst of the arguements happened right before they ran away.
