Oh, no.
While I do agree that being mean to others isn't ok, Stealing another's characters or character traits is NEVER okay to do. People's characters are very important to them, they work hard on designs. So no, it isn't something you just "get over", it's something that should be taken care of and talked about amongst the artist and the thief. Stealing someone else's style and/or characters is a BIG deal.
