Tanglestar picked at the freshkill pile, which was growing smaller day-by-day. She looked up at the sky, which was sending the first snow of winter. Tanglestar padded down to her den. She curled up on her mossy nest and lie on her back.

Deerpaw sat by the enterance of the apprentice den, eyeing the freshkill pile. He wanted to steal a mouse or something to eat, but he had figured he should wait until a hunting patrol returned.

Frozenheart sat in her den, her tail curled neatly over her paws. She was sorting coltsfoot and borage. Frozenheart after planned to collect the last bit of catmint, before greencough hit.

Deerpaw padded up to the entrance of Frozenheart's den and poked his head in with a purr. "Frozenheart, it's getting to be your time of year. It's started to snow!" Deerpaw teased the medicine cat. "Snow sure is cold, it will take some getting use to for me."

Tanglestar lumbered out of her den, her stomach growling. She headed out of camp to hunt for something herself.

Frozenheart nodded. "Greencough will be hitting soon, as if the clan needs to be wiped out more. I need to collect the last little bit of catmint before it completely wilts."

Deerpaw perked his ears. "Mind if I join you? I'd rather eat foxdung than lay around, anyways."

Tanglestar walked by the river, which was rushing by her quickly which made it both useless to hunt in and dangerous to cross. She turned twords the woods, where she could hear squirrels rushing for the last few acorns before they got burried by the snow.

Frozenheart slightly smiled. "Sure, dear. We could head out now if you'd like."

(Sure! Tanglestar is hunting, and Frozenheart and Deerpaw are going to collect catmint before it gets ruined by the first snow of winter.))

Deerpaw dipped his head politely to the older cat. "Sounds good to me."

"Mkay." Frozenheart stood up, and headed out of the den, then paused for Deerpaw to follow.

Blackfur walks out of the warriors den and sits down in the middle of the camp.

Tanglestar looked around the woods, and climbed up a tree on the riverbank. She crouched and shifted her weight, then leaped with all her strength to the other side of the river. She fluffed her pelt in triumph, then continued twords the hills.

Deerpaw scurried after Frozenheart, and made sure to flick his ears in greeting to Blackfur when Deerpaw noticed him. "It's snowing!" The young apprentice meowed.

Tanglestar clambered over a small hill, and up a larger hill after it. On the other side of the hill there was a small tunnel, hidden behind small stones and tall grass. Her intent was not to hunt anymore.

Frozenheart lumbered twords the exit of camp, eyeing the dens and stone wall, seemingly spaced out.

Tanglestar pushed past some tall grass and continued down the dirt tunnel.

Deerpaw raced after Frozenheart, nearly tripping over a pebble as he did so. "Sometimes I wonder what you think about." The younger cat chirped. "You seem sort of distant at times." He added.

"Deer, My brain is so old it is practically unable to be creative." Frozenheart joked. She stopped at the river. "The river is rather mad today. Doesn't like snow, maybe."

Blackfur nodded to return the greeting. He glanced at the fresh kill pile. 'I think I should go hunting, it is awfully low,' he thought.

The tunnel burst open into a large cave, which seemed rather empty except for a silouette of a ragged cat in a collar.

Blackfur leaves the clearing, wary of Diamondnose leaving as well, seeing that she is close to having her kits.

Deerpaw glanced at the river, and dared set a paw in. Fur ruffled along his spine, he pulled his paw back again. "And it's freezing cold! How are we supposed to get past it?

Frozenheart looked around. She spotted a large branch lying in the snow, and walked twords it. She grasped it in her jaws and tryed to move it twords the river.

Deerpaw grabbed at the branch, trying to help.

The branch slowly moved twords the river, until eventually it was lying across the river.

Blackfur ran into the forest, then stopped, listening.

Tanglestar approached the cat, the faint scent of rogue in her nose. Usually she would be aggressive twords the rouge, but she was actually rather friendly. "nice to see you again." She smiled

Deerpaw twitched his whiskers with concern. "You sure this is sturdy enough?" The apprentice glanced at the water lapping the branch.

"Let's find out." Frozenheart gripped Deerpaw's scruff and scurried across the branch. The tree limb creaked, but thankfully didn't break, yet.

Deerpaw let out a faint meow of surprise, his short tail bristled as he was carried over the branch.

Blackfur then scented the air, and paused, smelling a squirell.

Frozenheart set down Deerpaw. "No, it's rather stable." The medicine cat began to head foreward again, twords the large bundle of boulders.

Blackfur then, hearing the yowl from Diamondnose, forgot about the prey. He takes off sprinting as fast as he can in the direction from where he heard the yowl.

Not sure how to reply, Deerpaw padded after the old medicine cat. He already dreaded the thought of having to return over the branch, he hoped the snow would have froze the water by then.

Frozenheart padded twords the boulders, slipping into a medium-ish crevise.

Deerpaw went in after her, using his whiskers to feel where his surroundings were in the dark.

Blackfur runs to the location of Diamondnose, and lets out a battle cry as he leaps onto the back of one of the enemy cats, claws raking down their sides.

on the dirt, there were three small wilting catmint plants.

Deerpaw gasped. "I found some!" The young tom seemed satisfied with himself as he carefully nipped at the wiltings' stems.

Frozenheart smiled. "Good job." She began to help collect the catmint.

Tanglestar brushed past the rouge tom. He was a ginger tabby with a white underbelly, and a dirty blue collar.

Carrying his bundle of catmint, he pushed his face out of the crevice and blinked furiously, discomforted by the sudden light.

Blackfur rolls off of the enemy cat's back. The jet black tom then turns and bites the cat attacking Diamondnose on the neck, deeply.

Frozenheart followed, with her own catmint. She padded over the branch easily, and waited on the other side for Deerpaw.

Hesitant, Deerpaw set one paw on the branch as he watched the water rushing beneath him. Taking a deep breath, he started across it. Nearing the end of the branch, he heard a deafening creak and he lunged for the shore of the river.

Frozenheart headed twords camp, now and them cheaking to see if Deerpaw was following her.

Deerpaw caught up to Frozenheart, careful not to bite down on the catmint he was carrying. When he reached the camp he paused, scenting blood from Diamondnose's wounds.

Frozenheart smelled the same, and quickened her pace until she was running. She burst into camp, and quickly set down the catmint in her den before checking in the nursery for Diamondnose.

Blackfur ran over to the medicine cat and the apprentice, "Diamondnose had ran into enemy cats stealing prey, she is hurt. I need to gather a patrol to go back and make sure they leave!"

"Sure, sure, do that." Frozenheart mumbled to Blackfur, too focused on helping Diamondnose.

Frozenheart turned to Deerpaw. "Fetch the cobweb, dear."

Blackfur rushed to the leader's den, only to find out she was still absent.

Tanglestar left the tunnel a long while later, her fur ragged and she walked rather clumsey-like.

Frozenheart got the cobweb herself and a stick for Diamondnose to bite on. She gave her the stick and applied cobweb to the wounds.

Blackfur sat in the camp, tail flicking impatiently.

Tanglestar stumbled over the branch Frozenheart and Deerpaw had left, and slipped into camp. She stumbled into her den and streched on her nest.

Frozenheart looked down at the new mother happily. "Congratu-" She stopped and stared, concerned, at the red kit.

Frozenheart's pelt bristles and she rolls the kit on it's back, pressing on it's chest, trying to force it to breathe.

Frozenheart's face melted to greif. "Their...Starclan decided...It was better for them..." She backed away a little.

Blackfur's ear twitched at the commotion from the nursery, then padded over to Tanglestar's den.

Tanglestar's gaze shot up almost immediately, looking Blackfur right in the eye.

Frozenheart nodded, "I-I'll leave you alone...now..." She back out of the den.
