Anyways. On the world itself- we actually deal with two worlds (though this gets pretty weird later on), the main human one and the parallel fae one. Magic exists in both worlds, though it operates a bit differently in each. The fae world is kinda? born out of scraps of other worlds/mythology. (explored more in-detail within the story) the human world connects to other places through portals, the majority of which are kept carefully sealed. Human magic is not genetically transmitted (witch from a family of witches) but learned and taught. Kinda like drawing- some are inherently good at it, but practically anyone can do it eventually. The magic itself is based on manipulating energy, in contrast to the fae, who deal mostly with illusion and glamour. Both worlds are equally advanced (around 2015), though they have developed differently. (in terms of culture, government and technology.)

Inhabitants-
human world: humans, animals, beings who arrived through the portals/gateways.

fae world: various types of fae, elves, spirits, animals (though different than the ones we have over here)

-Project Apocalypse: a world-wide paramilitary organisation that protects the earth from extraterrestial threats. (in-depth explanation will be provided within the comic). The Project operates outside the normal government and military, and though it is not above the law, it does work differently than most organisations.

the fae: their world (a bit small compared to ours) is divided into kingdoms, ruled by various monarchs. Democracy is uncommon, most Kings/Queens have absolute power.
