RE: I would have just gone with the name "Quartz" since Certus is a variation of the quartz crystal, but it would be too cliche. Also about the eyes, the lack of sight would DRASTICALLY mess with depth perception, something I know your character deals with. I fixed that to benefit the both of our charas. So yeah.
