when cosmo was born he didnt have a mother or a father. a ghost lady found him and took care of him like her own child. they lived in peace for the five years that they got to be together. Prisma, cosmo's adoptive mother(the ghost lady) holds a special power called "life energy" (I COULDNT COME UP WITH ANYTHING COOL) and the 'life energy' was passed down to her mother, who was the daughter of a god and a mortal. the life energy that she had couldnt be used up when she was alive because it built up while she lived. she could only use this power in the afterlife. all the power she could use was the amount that was built up, no more and no less. she only used it to keep herself in her afterlife form and little by little the power was used up once she died.
snips, a creature in search of those powers who was already long gone and in the dead realm, found out about prisma and wanted to take those powers away from her so she could come back to life. if she took them away from her the prisma could die and snips will be alive again. snips cant escape the dead realm but she could control some things outside of it like the wind and such and with this she lured prisma into the barrier between the dead and the living. Snips tried to take away her life under her own will but prisma managed to safely escape after a gruesome battle between the two. Since that didnt work, snips had to use another tactic. since prisma was basically cosmo's mother now, she lured HIM into the dead realm and threatened to kill him if prisma didnt give her what she wanted. prisma tried to think of other ways to get cosmo back but eventually she ran out of time and cosmo was killed (HEHE) Prisma was devastated and instead of giving snips the life energy, she gave it to cosmo and HE came back to life and prisma disintegrated into the world. (however much life energy prisma had left amounted to how much time cosmo had left to live, and since she was part god, that was quite a lot) cosmo got away safely but not for long (this is about the time he met pinky and his friends). Snips figured out a way to steal his life energy without them being in contact, which was "the tree of life", a tree that the fallen gods long ago had constructed to do exactly this, drain the life from living victims . it was one of the dozen left in the world, since this was already banned a long time since then. she lured him in again, by manipulating him with emotional guilt from the past. he became trapped inside the heart of the tree for a long, long time. since the tree was already old and used, it took a hecka long time to transfer the energy between two worlds, about 12 years at most. trapped inside the tree for such a long time. cosmo experienced loss of hope, complete isolation, and most of all, the pain from life literally being drained away from him (this is why hes so shy and cant open up to people well). this took away all the years which remained in his lifespan. however, he then was saved by the 'queen' of light, and she provided him with whatever he needed to get back on his feet again. she studied him too. AND THATS ALL ITS REALLY LONG AND IM SORRY BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK???? *0*
