I've been switching back to Brawl lately, mostly because I miss my blonde little buddy...
My best bro informed me today that the cut characters from Smash (i.e Lucas, Ice Climbers, etc) had already been programmed into the new game. Just didn't make the final cut anyway.
Dunno if that's true, but it makes me pi.ssed nonetheless.

It's kinda normal for woman to do the voices for boys. It's the same with Toon Link too, he's voiced by a girl but when I found out I was so confused.

It is indeed very common, because us she-males have the capability of reaching innocent, child-like and often boyish pitches. *cough*
But would it really have been /that/ hard to find a young boy to stand and make like 20 different noises, get paid and leave?
Who knows, maybe Miss Minella had the perfect sound and they just /had to have it./
Not necessarily complaining, though... She made him sound awfully cute.

I always considered Ness to be a bit verbally challenged.
Especially in Brawl.
And he never seems able to properly pronounce "Flash"...
Aaand his "Okay" sounds like his voice actress is about to sneeze.
But I can't imagine any other voice for him but an oddly-sounding, extremely nasal little Japanese voice.
There's no doubt that women do a good job, and maybe they're easier to work with than kids, but I still think to truly capture the energy of a child's character, it's best to /actually have a child/ voice the character. I guess that's why The Peanuts was so special, haha
