Nintendo: We are trying to make a disc drive attachment for the SNES. Sony: And you want us to do it? okay, give us some tips *YEARS LATER* Nintendo: You F***ing back stabbers! Sony: UMADBRO?
It's true, Playstation was intended to be a disc drive for the SNES. As well as the panasonic 3DO but Nintendo decided to drop it and move on to the N64 to get the drop on the Sega Saturn and **** the Atari Jaguar. Sony still retained certain rights and released it on its own, which is why the Sony controllers are just glorified SNES controllers. Nintendo is famous for silly business decisions and not following through with promises. But it doesn't matter because they're willing to take giant risks (that sometimes blow up in their face) and are always the innovators. They don't go with the flow, they make it!
