You know that the Namekians are a genderless and assexual race? Don't you?
It comes, I believe, from a ridiculous over-reaction that some people have to certain kinds of intimacy "outside of marriage" being a sin. Some people decide that if marriage and loyalty to spouce are needed, then the whole thing has to be evil, which really it isn't.
There have long been people who have believed that by denying oneself sexual contact, one could more easily ascend to a more enlightened plain.
Sounds like nonsense to me.
