I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I made a gemsona, whoo!
(I just know the basics of their species. I haven't watched that many episodes of Steven Universe, so someone tell me if I goofed up here.)

Her name is Tourmaline (based on the watermelon colouration), and her gem is cut into a heart and placed over her own. Her weapon is a chakram with a laser running down the outer edge. Think of the discs in Tron: Legacy.

Tourmaline is like a "cool older sister" type of character. (Think AC:NL Uchi villagers) She has that thrill seeker attitude, but is really compassionate and caring for her friends.

She likes eating Jolly Ranchers because they look like her hair.
