And uh, well...on the friend thing...
I guess just try to comment on the pictures you like a bit more often. I may not comment on that much now, but back when I joined and up until..I dunno...after the update came out, I commented much more frequently. People will take notice when you comment a lot and appreciate it, and some may want to be your friend.
I'm insanely bad with this kind of thing, so I may not be of much help.
