its current hokage is the fifth hokage tsunade senju
however the third hokage, hirozen sarutobi, has had to take office a second time after the fourth hokage, minato namekaze, gave himself up to save the village from the nine-tailed fox demon after sealing half of it in his newborn son naruto uzumaki making him the third nine-tails jinchuuriki after his mother, kushina uzumaki.
