The moon was ominious is the nearly black sky, surrounded by a circlet of stars that it wore gracefully. A young kitsune scrabbled out from underneath a bush, a plump finch dangling from his jaws by the poor thing's tail. The sleek furred creature gently lowered it's catch to the soft, moist grass beneath it, raising it's thin snout to the sky. Small, intelligent eyes twinkling with the thought of maybe, just maybe finding his way to the atmosphere. Seeing the marvelous colors spintering through the universe- it would be amazing. I will, he silently vowed. It would be the most incredible adventure; he would, no matter the cost, dare to stick his nose into places that his kind never had. But after a midnight snack, of course. Being honestly horrible at hunting, it was a delight to see such a stupid bird dozing off on a tree root. He swung his head down and opened his sharp-toothed jaws, snapping them shut on... nothing. VVV

(OK BACK TO STORY)

The young fox-like creature yelped as his razor-sharp teeth sliced into something NOT bird; and quite sensitive. Stumbling backward, he paused in pain before, spitting blood and hurling aimless insults, he scanned the area. It was rather easy to spot; it was almost as if the finch theif wasn't trying to hide. A young tom ( #northernocs for detailed picture) was perched on a small stone the size of it's own body. The kitsune growled a warning, causing the cat to casually, or more nonchalantly look up and almost give a friendly wave with it's oddly colored tail. The kitsune snarled at the cat and lunged for it, before crashing into the rock and rolling to his paws in an uncomfortable position. Spluttering saliva and blood from his black maw, the kitsune spun, white teeth flashing red. Spotting the cat, which was standing and glowering at the obviously larger and more powerful animal, the kitsune charged at the feline, keeping it in his sight as much as possible.VV

The cat sprung from the ground at the kitsune's paws and landed neatly on it's orange-y paws while the kitsune barreled onwards before clumsily slithering in a semicircle to a halt, now facing the cat. "How?!" The three-tailed canine roared. "You've angered me several times, and yet you still stand!" As the kitsune screamed (seeing as Tyler's bio says hes like 14 lets get real) reddish saliva strings flew outwards, scarring the ground in front of the creature with gleaming lines. The cat licked it's lips and casually sat back on it's haunches. "Where I come from, kits are taught to fight things angrier than you, furball." The cat's eyes gleamed while he recalled his past. The cat began to chatter about 'huge black things with teeth like stones and claws like icicles' and the kitsune growled his frustration. "Shut up! Shut up you nasty flea bag! I ate bones like yours for my last meal! Now SHUT UP AND FIGHT ME!" The kitsune charged, but put more spring in his step. VVV

The tom lept, but this time the kitsune was ready. Lurching upwards, the kitsune body-slammed the cat in mid-air. The cat was flung into the air and lay winded at the gnarled roots of an oak tree. "This is why I'm a kitsune and you're a cat." The kitsune snarled as he closed in. Right before his jaws snapped shut around the cat's throat, the tom croaked out something that made the kitsune pause for more than he should've. "And this is the difference."

Ok guys, that's a wrap! Next session will be the end of Chapter 1 and we'll be 1/5 done with this Ark! And, by the way, there is no limit to the number of Arks! I also need more characters to work with, I only have 5! Alright, see ya!
