loo foo/lung hybrid hair //shot

okay, so, first of all just stuff about him/his design:
(his power/element is light/fire)
he always wears that small bottle because it can be used in extreme situations (life or death). there's very little of it, but he's never had to use it before (at least that's what he thinks). it also contains the concentrated essence of his power/curse (we'll get to that later) but he doesnt know that. if he has to use it, he has to cut himself or open one and pour a drop in it. it basically puts him on overdrive and makes him powerful but REALLY unstable and dangerous. he recognizes no one when this happens and will destroy anything and anyone.
the bands on his forearms are made of flint essentially, and hold a very explosive powder that's golden in color. he makes his own (his own personal trademark) and this acts as a medium to let him control the fire/light. (cont)

to use it, he'll swipe one of his hands across the band (creating a streak of sparks) and pull the stopper at the top, letting some of it out. it will catch fire, but he has pretty decent control over it and can then use it to breathe fire, use it like a shield, blow it out like an explosion, stuff like that. he doesnt usually resort to using this, though -- he's rather skilled at martial arts and is very agile. he uses the fire mostly to catch others off-guard and such.

he has medium-length hair for no reason other than he likes it like that. it's usually in a low bun, but if he's just being casual it'll be left down.
he ALWAYS wears something to cover his upper chest area. there are several severe scars there that he doesnt want attention drawn to, better to just hide them.
he tends to act as the living embodiment of pure pride. he's full of himself, sarcastic, clever.... all that and more. he really is caring though -- just guarded about it and doesnt like to let people in.
now, we get into his backstory...

the entire reason he's out there in the world? to find what k!lled his family, and bring them to justice. he may act light-hearted but he has an extreme bloodlust for whatever tore what little chance he had at a normal family left. he vows to make them suffer.
but... well, i guess i should describe his family first.

his family seemed like the family everyone dreamed of.
they were rich, well-known, successful. the children were popular, athletic, and were all on honor roll.
the catch?
they were miserable.
it was all a front.
the father was having an affair, the mother was an alcoholic and mentally unstable. the eldest son was doing drugs, the sister was depressed.... the only two "pure" ones were cain, and later his little sister. cain was too young to get what was happening for quite a while. his sister was 7 years younger than him, and they lived in their own perfect world. as cain got older, he began realising the truth, but denied/pretended it wasnt true if only for his sister.
he believed it could, would get better.
until it all came crashing down, forever.

the parents were fighting.
not a normal fight, a rather brutal one. it wasnt physical, but it was enough to put everyone on the verge of snapping.
then someone broke in.
it was nothing new....except said theif had taken the only innocent one left as a hostage.
it was chaos.
thinking he could help, the then-13 cain began rooting through the stash of books about mythology, magic, and other stuff of the like. he and his family were in the basement, he decided to make use of it.
while searching, he found a book paired with a small bottle. reading into it, he decided it was what he needed. after reading up on it (he already had a pretty decent understanding of the stuff), he tried it out.
he immediately blacked out.
when he came to, everyone was dead. everything was destroyed, and even he had severe burn marks and deep wounds.
he figured the intruder had back-up, and no care for what happened to them. he thought he only lived because they thought he was dead.

sound familiar?
after waking up, though, he found he remembered next to nothing. he only remembered the situation and blacking out.
being without the bottle felt...odd. he took it with him. if no one else, he hoped his little sister made it out okay.
all he found was shredded clothing and blood spatters.
he vowed to get revenge, bring the one who did this to justice.....
little did he know, he's the one he's after.
he occasionally has...relapses of memories, flashbacks triggered by words or actions. during these he breaks down and acts only on instinct. he never remembers what he sees in these fits, but they always tire him out to the point where he has to rest for at least a day.

the liquid itself is actually directly tied to his soul. it's just concentrated power. so if he ever uses it all up....
there will be nothing left of his actual self to tie him down, and the power will take over. does he know this?
not in the slightest.

I can picture you explaining this to a crowd of people and after youre done just, mic drop, slow walk offstage, sweet victory starts blaring
but really oh my glob that's the best oc backstory ive read in a long while, if it became a book I would read the heck out of it and wow
