This looks awesome, I'm sure he'll love it. The beauty of the shading and lighting in every one of your pictures is awe-inspiring! :o (sorry to get all dramatic, but it's true.) Would you mind making a tutorial on it? It's fine if you don't want to, I'm just wondering. :3
Like almost every comment says, I LOVE IT >w< I finally get to see how the great KK111 would draw my OC QwQ I am very happy with all these gifts and drawings of my OC qwq thank you so much KK!! >w<
(Btw, we need to smash some time today. If you see me on, or that I made a room, join in QDQ )
Phoebe: Eheh, I really suck at explaining things, it's why I've never made a yoshi tutorial or lucario tutorial. Having a hard time trying to write about how I shade right now! I've already erased about 5 attempts. XD
There are about three things I keep in mind when I start to shade: Lightsource, the color of the area the character's in (can't find the words I'm looking for. Basically, say, like how the background is in this, different greys. That affects my color choice. Copy and inkdrop some of my recent shaded pictures, like 'flare in the rain' and look) And the color of the character. Oh and the shape of the character! Okay, that's four things, not three.
Understanding how shadows is important too. I frequently observe stuff in real life to see how stuff looks.
Heheh, I think I know the collab that you're talking about... But hey, you were still learning to draw Riolu. I would love to see Rio in your style! Of course we have very different styles, me with thicker colored lines and simple but clean shading, and you with thinner black lines and complex shading that gives the painting a more natural feel. If you want to draw Rio, go ahead! I give you the green light :)
