Tanglestar sat on the Gathering Tree, grooming her paws. Her stomach was slightly sore, but she had too much pride to go and ask that crazy medic to help. She looked over her clan, relatively proud of her kin...relatively. Ever since she had become leader, she had been trying to purify the clan from rouges and loners. She knew she was hypocrite, but that only mad her angerier

Frozenheart was sorting the poppy seeds from the juniper berries, because some squirrels chasing each other had gotten in and the herbs had gotten everywhere. She needed a rock to block the enterance, so that stuff wouldnt happen.

Tanglestar watches the kits play, then turns to the entery tunnel. She could swear that she could smell something coming, but ignored it. It was probably nothing.

Frozenheart stepped outside in the pouring rain, yawning. She looks around the camp. Everyone seemed healthy, but she still felt something was wrong.

Tanglestar hopped up a few branches, trying to get a better few of outside the camp. The rain made seeing harder.

Frozenheart sat in the soon-to-be-mud. She hoped the log wasn't leaking, because then the herbs would only get worse.

Tanglestar strained to see, and finally focused on large black and white shapes lumbering twords the camp. That was the foul scent. Tanglestar leaped down to the lowest branch, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey join here under the Gathering Tree for a clan meeting!"

Tanglestar waited for everyone to gather around, then began to speak. "Im sure many of you have been getting weird feelings of something appro-" She was cut off by the loud sound of predators running into the camp.

The large black and white animals Tanglestar had spotted earlier flooded into the camp, finally identified as badgers. Ticked off badgers. And there were easily way more badgers than warriors.

tinywind ran to the nuresy and guard the kits

Tanglestar snarled and leaped out of the tree in one bound. "Autumnclan," She yowled. "Attack!"

Frozenheart ran into the Medicine Den, to guard the herbs.

Tanglestar rammed her head into one of the badgers, knocking it over and exposing its stomach. She sank her teeth into its gut.

The badger hit her in the face with its wide paw, knocking Tangkestar over, but she took the skin on the badger's stomach with her. The badger screeched, attracting the attention of other badgers, just before it stopped breathing

Tanglestar stands on top on the de.ad badger, her tail thrashing. She leaps into the air, claws extended, and grips another badger's head. As gravity takes the hind legs back to the ground, she whips the badger's head down with her, whaming it on a rock. The badger goes limp.

Tanglestar ran back up the Gathering Tree, scanning the battle. Bodies of both cats and badgers were everywhere. Suddenly it hit her: Her clan was shrinking. She saw the deputy fighting a badger off from the nursery, and the badger lurched forward at the dep's neck. The ginger tom fell to the ground.

Frozenheart watched the battle from the log, her tail swishing wildly.

Tanglestar bounded to the badger who ki//ed the deputy, Lionfall. She leaped foreward, her form streached and her claws completely unsheathed.

Tanglestar clawed the badger's eyes, and hooked her claws into the badger's face so it's head went down with her claws. The badger snaped at her leg, biting it before it retreats.

Tanglestar and Frozenheart both joined the siblings in driving out the rest of the badgers.

Tanglestar receives their comment, and looking around the camp, at least half the camp is lying lifeless. She bounds to the Gathering Tree, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey join here under the Gathering Tree for a clan meeting!"

"As you have seen, many cats have died in this battle, including our deputy, Lionfall." Tanglestar began.

Frozenheart watched from the log.

"As we all know, that means I must appoint a new deputy..." Tanglestar was almost certain who to appoint.

Tanglestar raised her head "I say these words before the body of Lionfall, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of Autumnclan will be Sha.tteredstorm!"

Tanglestar looked down at her brother. "Do you accept this role?"

Tanglestar leaped down from the Gathering Tree, and heads twords the Medicine den to get her leg treated

Frozenheart welcomes Tanglestar into her den. "Whadda want?"
Tanglestar scowled. "Just my leg."

Frozenheart applies cob web to Tanglestar's leg and sends her away.
