my first ever poem, for my school's poetry comp'
i'll admit i rushed this pic

Nature's Clock
The world is a clock
Like the hands of time
It turns in an endless cycle.
Days are gone in seconds
Months pass by in mere minutes
And every few hours one season changes to the next as agreed
At twelve o clock
Mother Nature calls upon Spring to take on it's role
To awaken animals in slumber awaiting Winter's end
To revive the trees
And breathe life back into the flowers

As the clock strikes three Summer begins
Allowing Sun to cheat Moon of it's time like a skilled c.on artist
At dawn and dusk Sun splits the sky
into every colour possible
When Nature's clock lands on six
Autumn arrives in a frenzy of rusted reds, deep browns and golds that have lost their shine
Light as a feather, each leaf floats to the forest floor
As the hands reluctantly rest on nine o clock
birds flee south from the coming cold
Winter seizes it's chance, latching onto the fading Autumn with a firm, frosty grip
North Wind howls bitterly through the trees, rendering them dead and featureless
Moon returns Sun's favour
taking back time lost in Summer's hours, extending Darkness' stay

However, as time ticks close to twelve
Mother Nature bring's Winter's wicked onslaught to an end
"You are too ambitious Winter. Be on your way"
As Winter takes it's leave
Spring makes it's return
Ending and beginning yet another cycle
