-His name is a very complicated joke on Pothead the Porcupine. Weed is a synonym for pot, and athelpine is a type of weed.

-He went after Silver instead of Blaze because she's always felt... odd... to him.(he really has it out for Solaris)

-He used to rule the fire world being one of the only hundreds of survivors, but Mephiles overthrew him, and worse, made him his servant, hence his theme.
