Already looks a bit better! And yeah you'll need a lot of practice. I found the color theory stuff around a year ago, and I'm still learning.

I'll get it but best to just keep practicing! I got a snow day tomorrow so I got a lot of practice time!

Yep! Practice does indeed make perfect. Keep at it and you'll look back at your old works and spot all the mistakes you never knew you made before.
Another thing I've noticed, you color on the same layer as your lineart. It'll be less restricting on you if you do it on another layer (the one under your lineart layer.)
