Wherever the light source is, is where the shadow will be facing. Idk how to explain it well but youmcan find some really good ytutorials (ecspically on tumblr) Body types are tough man :v Anatomy is tough to draw and takes a loooot of practice (im not the best at it either) Arms down at your sides go to mid-thighs, use the face-chart crosd thing so you can line up eyes correctly and have the nose be in the middle of the face. Watch a lot of playbacks and study other pieces of art and pictures
i find it easier to use the smallest gradient brush for sketches and as for shading all you gotta do is think about what is on top of the thing you wanna shade. idk if that helps but tutorials are also good.

Try drawing with your eyes closed. If you can do that, it really is easy to draw with your eyes open.
