I think its a semi great idea. though its a game console and not a phone. Other than that it'd be entertaining to see the people you also play the games with

just buy the psvita it has skype facebook youtube loads of social networking stuff voice chat etc wii u will have this maybe voice chat most deffinantly but not skype ^ ^

i think that since Nintendo is mostly kid based... they dont want P3d0's buying 3DS's to see lil kids. Wii U in the other hand is mothe adult themed. as most games r rated M like Zombies n Assasin's Creed.

Hmm...Iteresting idea! I'd like it to be like this: You get like, a number, You type in that number and it lets you chat with friends! (no internet c0nnection(seriously?) required!)

Miiverse is coming to the 3DS. The 3DS may git voice and face chat with friends some day Any thang is possible. But remiber Nintendo is about games thay are not phone Company. :) :D ;)
