Secretly he's Bowsers oldest son but Bowser abandoned him because he refused to help Bowser attacking the Mushroom Kingdom. Before he got abandoned he was Kameks student wich means he can use strong magic and knows lots of different magic formulas. He was born and abandoned before the Koopalings were born so they don't know him. He also is a loner and doesn't fight for any kingdom, neither for Mushroom Kingdom nor for Bowsers empire.
